This is a very interesting book that is for Young Adults, but everyone would enjoy it. It keeps your interest and you can follow the story line easily. I happen to know one of the author very well so I could see some family members in the book. I had a luncheon for the Book Club and invited the Author and his lovely wife to talk to the group. We had a wonderful time and Hal answered many questions. If you want an easy read with some action this is the book for you. It would a good book to share with your child and then talk about it since it does have family values and also it is very in keeping with the young adults today.

This is a timely written book with the current hacking in our government and businees world now. I loved the relationships with family and neighbors. One of the strengths was the descriptive details in computer language as well as the young adult language, i.e. "layered look" of the clothing!
LOVED this book. I am a middle school teacher and I am always looking for engaging, age appropriate books for my students that encourage a love of reading. This one is it! But it's more than that...it was interesting for me too as an adult. It was suspenseful and had many thrilling and well-written plot twists and turns. And all without falling back and copping out with unnecessary gratuitous sex. It addressed the growing relationship between Jeremy and Elizabeth in a realistic, wholesome way. TWO thumbs way up! And I agree with another reviewer that the story ended wayyyy too early...perhaps we will see a sequel?
The Stingy Minion Hacked is a nice young adult novel about two high school neighbors, Elizabeth and Jereme, in small-town in Missouri. Elizabeth, the daughter of an imprisoned hacker, and Jereme, a budding musician, manage to hack a very secure website and trouble ensues.

This is a great novel for the young teenage group of readers, and my rating is for that audience. It is exciting and pleasant, with no sex and no foul language. I could easily discuss this book with my teenage grandchildren.

Elizabeth's story took me back to the crazy, confusing, exciting world of being sixteen! She doesn't have any magical powers but she does have brains and a curious nature that ends up getting her and her neighbor into quite an adventure! The characters make this story charming - the grandparents are a hoot! The hacking software has the coolness that could only come from a gaming enthusiast! Darn it - I want a Stingy Minion!
Intrigue, mystery and relationships describes, THE STINGY MINION. Every reader at any age can relate to something in the book. I loved the fact that the story embraced characters of different generations, mystery of current national affairs, and real life among friends and relatives. Elizabeth and Jereme both demonstrated curiousity, skills, a sense of responsibility, and yes vulnerability as well. A wonderful mix of prose and suspense, very well written. Wish it had been longer in length as I didn't want the story to end.
This is a really cute, light read that looks into the life of a modern super smart teenager. I was hooked from the first pages. Much reminded me of Lizbeth from The Girl series, but more down to earth and less dark. Liz an amazing sense of reality and humor. This is just what I needed on my break from school. A wonderful, light, engaging read with wonderful imagery. I highly recommend this book. Looking forward to the movie ;-) I cannot wait to see what happens in the end!
